Description

Yea, I know I posted a shot of M13 just a few days ago.  Still working with the Vixen.  Taking lessons from all the great experts here on Astrobin.  This time I payed attention to how @Michael Feigenbaum shoots his globular clusters.  I shot this with 95x60" subs.  That vastly improved the quality of the shot.  The center region has a lot more detail and is not so over-exposed and blown out.  Thanks Michael.  To really make this pop, I need to shoot this up in Overgaard where I have Bortle 1 or even better skies.  Something for the coming months as we head up north.

I have a flattener for the Vixen on order.  I think with that I should be able to dial out the last few remaining issues with my Vixen setup and it should perform quite well.  We will see.  I like the focal length (795mm) of this OTA.  It's long enough to get nice details on object like M27, M101, M13 etc. but it is not so long that stars get bloated and guiding becomes an issue.  I should get some nice milage out of the setup.
